Hiding behind this cool breeze block facade and striking yellow entrance is a comfortable urban home with lots of clever features and lush, landscaped, courtyard gardens. Designed by MAP Architects this inner northern oasis includes a concealed study and bar, Murphy bed and butlers pantry. A fun day’s shooting earlier this year.

Halcyon Walk 2 & 3 by Housing First Limited and H2o Architects
If you’re a regular here you may have seen 1 Halcyon Walk that I shot back in 2023 for Housing First Limited, with construction of buildings two and three commencing around me. Fast forward to late 2024 and I was back there to shoot those now completed buildings. How wonderful to see it come together with garden views from the apartments and great indoor and outdoor common areas for the lucky seniors that reside there. It’s a lovely little collection of buildings designed by H2o Architects, with their signature yellow throughout and built by Minicon Construction.

e/S in the media
Thanks to Indesign Media and in particular the ever impressive Jan Henderson, a number of my clients projects have hit the architecture media in the last few months. See below for links and read about these excellent projects:
An updated gem by Rosstang Architects
Mother Nature is always generous when I work with Rosemary Ross and Waihan Tang of Rosstang Architects, and this sunny Monday back in March was no exception. Perfect blue sky and sunshine to shoot this beautiful update and addition to an old gem in Brighton. A clever use of space and stunning landscaping by Paul Pritchard made for a lovely day in the autumn sun.
Railway Place Pop Up Furniture
Spent a lovely afternoon in the sun with the Planning & Placemaking team at City of Boroondara, shooting their latest pop up furniture project. Here’s a few highlights from the shoot.
Marlborough Street Social Housing by Baldasso Cortese
What a pleasure it was to work with Baldasso Cortese and HousingFirst Ltd on this impressive and important social housing development in Balaclava.
Built by Buxton Construction on the site of a former council car park, the six-level development consists of 46 one, two and three-bedroom dwellings suitable for families, older residents and people living with a disability.
The building includes a rooftop terrace and community garden, end of trip facilities and a thoughtful art work in the entry featuring an “inverse-Nolli Map” of the St Kilda / Balaclava neighbourhood.
Hats off to City of Port Phillip and the Victorian Government for coming together to make this building a reality and house a vulnerable cross section of our society.

Obake Gardens at Secret Garden House
Seeing as though we’re out in the garden I thought I’d share some additional images shot for Obake Gardens from Secret Garden House by Amiconi Architects.
Mieke Pattison has done a stunning job of creating a secluded oasis and productive garden in one.
Superstructures by Sean Meilak
Something a bit different also shot earlier this month was “Superstructures”, the latest installation by Melbourne sculptor, Sean Meilak. I’ve been a fan of Sean’s work for a long time so it was lovely to spend some time up close with it.
