Elizabeth Schiavello is an architectural, interiors and fine art photographer, based in Melbourne.
Following a career in public relations Elizabeth decided to pursue photography. She studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and the Photography Studies College, Melbourne.
Elizabeth’s fascination with photography grew from a love of international travel and the desire to document the places she visited. Through her travels and early photographic practice her interest in architecture and the built environment flourished and led her naturally into her commercial work as an architectural and interiors photographer.
Elizabeth’s work is characterised by strong, considered compositions highlighting both the context and the details of the projects she photographs. Within her images there’s a focus on emphasising the form, function and essence of the space or place.
To complement her architectural and interiors photographic practice Elizabeth has, in parallel, built a fine art practice. A life-long interest in fine art painters often informs her projects, which move between the built and natural environments.
Elizabeth has been a finalist in national art and photography prizes, had her work featured in major print and online publications, and national television programs. Elizabeth has also exhibited her work in both solo and group exhibitions in Melbourne and her work is held in numerous private collections around Australia.
