Elizabeth Schiavello is an architectural, interiors and fine art photographer, based in Melbourne.
After a successful career in corporate public relations Elizabeth decided to pursue her lifelong passion for photography. She studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and the Photography Studies College, Melbourne.
Elizabeth’s fascination with photography grew from a love of international travel and the desire to capture the old and new built environments she encountered. Through her travel and early photographic practice her interest in architecture and the built environment also flourished and led her naturally into her commercial work as an architectural and interiors photographer.
Elizabeth’s work is characterised by strong, considered compositions highlighting both the wider context and the details of the projects she photographs. Within Elizabeth’s images there is an evident focus on emphasising shape, form, light and scale, all of which are important qualities in the documenting of architectural and interiors projects.
To complement her architectural and interiors photographic practice Elizabeth has, in parallel, focused on building a fine art practice. A life-long lover of a range of fine art painters, Elizabeth often looks to them, both historical and contemporary, to inform her fine art projects, which move between the built and natural environments and in particular the places where the two meet. In early 2017, Elizabeth signed with Studio Gallery, Melbourne who continue to represent her fine art projects
Elizabeth has been a finalist in national architectural photography competitions, had her work featured in major print and online publications, and national television programs. Elizabeth has also exhibited her work in solo and group exhibition in Melbourne.
